Colossians 3

NKJV 1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. NIV 1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. NKJV 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. NIV 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. NKJV 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. NIV 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. NKJV 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. NIV 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. NKJV 5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. NIV 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. NKJV 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, NIV 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. NKJV 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. NIV 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. NKJV 8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. NIV 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. NKJV 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, NIV 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices NKJV 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, NIV 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. NKJV 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. NIV 11 Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. NKJV 12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; NIV 12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. NKJV 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. NIV 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. NKJV 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. NIV 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. NKJV 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. NIV 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. NKJV 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. NIV 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. NKJV 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. NIV 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. NKJV 18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. NIV 18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. NKJV 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. NIV 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. NKJV 20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. NIV 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. NKJV 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. NIV 21 Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. NKJV 22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. NIV 22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. NKJV 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, NIV 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, NKJV 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. NIV 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. NKJV 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality. NIV 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.
