Daniel 10:1-3

NLT 1 In the third year of the reign of King Cyrus of Persia, Daniel (also known as Belteshazzar) had another vision. He understood that the vision concerned events certain to happen in the future—times of war and great hardship. NIV 1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision. NLT 2 When this vision came to me, I, Daniel, had been in mourning for three whole weeks. NIV 2 At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. NLT 3 All that time I had eaten no rich food. No meat or wine crossed my lips, and I used no fragrant lotions until those three weeks had passed. NIV 3 I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.
