Deuteronomy 1:1-5

NRS 1 These are the words that Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan—in the wilderness, on the plain opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Di-zahab. NIV 1 These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the desert east of the Jordan--that is, in the Arabah--opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and Dizahab. NRS 2 (By the way of Mount Seir it takes eleven days to reach Kadesh-barnea from Horeb.) NIV 2 (It takes eleven days to go from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by the Mount Seir road.) NRS 3 In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses spoke to the Israelites just as the Lord had commanded him to speak to them.
