KJV 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: NIV 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: KJV 2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. NIV 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. KJV 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: NIV 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. KJV 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: NIV 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love KJV 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, NIV 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- KJV 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved . KJV 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance , being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: NIV 11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, KJV 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. NIV 12 in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. KJV 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed , ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, NIV 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, KJV 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. NIV 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory. KJV 15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, NIV 15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, KJV 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; NIV 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. KJV 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: NIV 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. KJV 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened ; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, NIV 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, KJV 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe , according to the working of his mighty power, NIV 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, KJV 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, NIV 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, KJV 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named , not only in this world, but also in that which is to come : NIV 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. KJV 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, NIV 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, KJV 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. NIV 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
