Ephesians 4:12-22

RSV 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, NIV 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up RSV 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; NIV 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. RSV 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. NIV 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. RSV 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, NIV 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. RSV 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love. RSV 19 they have become callous and have given themselves up to licentiousness, greedy to practice every kind of uncleanness. NIV 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. RSV 20 You did not so learn Christ! -- NIV 20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. RSV 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus. NIV 21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. RSV 22 Put off your old nature which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful lusts, NIV 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
