Ephesians 4:17-32

NAS 17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord , that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, NIV 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. NAS 18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; NIV 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. NAS 19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. NIV 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. NAS 20 But you did not learn Christ in this way, NIV 20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. NAS 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, NIV 21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. NAS 22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, NIV 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; NAS 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, NIV 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; NAS 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. NIV 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. NAS 25 Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another. NIV 25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. NAS 26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, NIV 26 "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, NAS 27 and do not give the devil an opportunity. NIV 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. NAS 28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. NIV 28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. NAS 29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. NIV 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. NAS 30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. NIV 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. NAS 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. NIV 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. NAS 32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. NIV 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
