Ephesians 5:1-6

DBY 1 Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children, NIV 1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children DBY 2 and walk in love, even as the Christ loved us, and delivered himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour. NIV 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. DBY 3 But fornication and all uncleanness or unbridled lust, let it not be even named among you, as it becomes saints; NIV 3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. DBY 4 and filthiness and foolish talking, or jesting, which are not convenient; but rather thanksgiving. NIV 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. DBY 5 For this ye are [well] informed of, knowing that no fornicator, or unclean person, or person of unbridled lust, who is an idolater, has inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God. NIV 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. DBY 6 Let no one deceive you with vain words, for on account of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. NIV 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
