Ephesians 5:1-6

GNT 1 Since you are God's dear children, you must try to be like him. NIV 1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children GNT 2 Your life must be controlled by love, just as Christ loved us and gave his life for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice that pleases God. NIV 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. GNT 3 Since you are God's people, it is not right that any matters of sexual immorality or indecency or greed should even be mentioned among you. NIV 3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. GNT 4 Nor is it fitting for you to use language which is obscene, profane, or vulgar. Rather you should give thanks to God. NIV 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. GNT 5 You may be sure that no one who is immoral, indecent, or greedy (for greed is a form of idolatry) will ever receive a share in the Kingdom of Christ and of God. NIV 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. GNT 6 Do not let anyone deceive you with foolish words; it is because of these very things that God's anger will come upon those who do not obey him. NIV 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
