Ephesians 5:22-33

NRS 22 Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. NIV 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. NRS 23 For the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church, the body of which he is the Savior. NIV 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. NRS 24 Just as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives ought to be, in everything, to their husbands. NIV 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. NRS 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, NIV 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her NRS 26 in order to make her holy by cleansing her with the washing of water by the word, NIV 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, NRS 27 so as to present the church to himself in splendor, without a spot or wrinkle or anything of the kind—yes, so that she may be holy and without blemish. NIV 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. NRS 28 In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. NIV 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. NRS 29 For no one ever hates his own body, but he nourishes and tenderly cares for it, just as Christ does for the church, NIV 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- NRS 30 because we are members of his body. NIV 30 for we are members of his body. NRS 31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." NIV 31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." NRS 32 This is a great mystery, and I am applying it to Christ and the church. NIV 32 This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church. NRS 33 Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband. NIV 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
