Exodus 23:1-9

NRS 1 You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with the wicked to act as a malicious witness. NIV 1 "Do not spread false reports. Do not help a wicked man by being a malicious witness. NRS 2 You shall not follow a majority in wrongdoing; when you bear witness in a lawsuit, you shall not side with the majority so as to pervert justice; NIV 2 "Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd, NRS 3 nor shall you be partial to the poor in a lawsuit. NIV 3 and do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit. NRS 4 When you come upon your enemy's ox or donkey going astray, you shall bring it back NIV 4 "If you come across your enemy's ox or donkey wandering off, be sure to take it back to him. NRS 5 When you see the donkey of one who hates you lying under its burden and you would hold back from setting it free, you must help to set it free. NIV 5 If you see the donkey of someone who hates you fallen down under its load, do not leave it there; be sure you help him with it. NRS 6 You shall not pervert the justice due to your poor in their lawsuits. NIV 6 "Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits. NRS 7 Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and those in the right, for I will not acquit the guilty. NIV 7 Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty. NRS 8 You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the officials, and subverts the cause of those who are in the right. NIV 8 "Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the righteous. NRS 9 You shall not oppress a resident alien; you know the heart of an alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt. NIV 9 "Do not oppress an alien; you yourselves know how it feels to be aliens, because you were aliens in Egypt.
