GNT 1 The Lord said to Moses, NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, GNT 2 "Tell the Israelites to make an offering to me. Receive whatever offerings anyone wishes to give. NIV 2 "Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give. GNT 3 These offerings are to be: gold, silver, and bronze; NIV 3 These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; GNT 4 fine linen; blue, purple, and red wool; cloth made of goats' hair; NIV 4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; GNT 5 rams' skin dyed red; fine leather; acacia wood; NIV 5 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; GNT 6 oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet-smelling incense; NIV 6 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; GNT 7 carnelians and other jewels to be set in the ephod of the High Priest and in his breastpiece. NIV 7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. GNT 8 The people must make a sacred Tent for me, so that I may live among them. NIV 8 "Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. GNT 9 Make it and all its furnishings according to the plan that I will show you. NIV 9 Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you. GNT 10 "Make a Box out of acacia wood, 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high. NIV 10 "Have them make a chest of acacia wood--two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. GNT 11 Cover it with pure gold inside and out and put a gold border all around it. NIV 11 Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. GNT 12 Make four carrying rings of gold for it and attach them to its four legs, with two rings on each side. NIV 12 Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. GNT 13 Make carrying poles of acacia wood and cover them with gold NIV 13 Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. GNT 14 and put them through the rings on each side of the Box. NIV 14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the chest to carry it. GNT 15 The poles are to be left in the rings and must not be taken out. NIV 15 The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed. GNT 16 Then put in the Box the two stone tablets that I will give you, on which the commandments are written. NIV 16 Then put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. GNT 17 "Make a lid of pure gold, 45 inches long and 27 inches wide. NIV 17 "Make an atonement cover of pure gold--two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. GNT 18 Make two winged creatures of hammered gold, NIV 18 And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. GNT 19 one for each end of the lid. Make them so that they form one piece with the lid. NIV 19 Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. GNT 20 The winged creatures are to face each other across the lid, and their outspread wings are to cover it. NIV 20 The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. GNT 21 Put the two stone tablets inside the Box and put the lid on top of it. NIV 21 Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. GNT 22 I will meet you there, and from above the lid between the two winged creatures I will give you all my laws for the people of Israel. NIV 22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites. GNT 23 "Make a table out of acacia wood, 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 27 inches high. NIV 23 "Make a table of acacia wood--two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high. GNT 24 Cover it with pure gold and put a gold border around it. NIV 24 Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it. GNT 25 Make a rim 3 inches wide around it and a gold border around the rim. NIV 25 Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim. GNT 26 Make four carrying rings of gold for it and put them at the four corners, where the legs are. NIV 26 Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are. GNT 27 The rings to hold the poles for carrying the table are to be placed near the rim. NIV 27 The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table. GNT 28 Make the poles of acacia wood and cover them with gold. NIV 28 Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them. GNT 29 Make plates, cups, jars, and bowls to be used for the wine offerings. All of these are to be made of pure gold. NIV 29 And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings. GNT 30 The table is to be placed in front of the Covenant Box, and on the table there is always to be the sacred bread offered to me. NIV 30 Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times. GNT 31 "Make a lampstand of pure gold. Make its base and its shaft of hammered gold; its decorative flowers, including buds and petals, are to form one piece with it. NIV 31 "Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it. GNT 32 Six branches shall extend from its sides, three from each side. NIV 32 Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand--three on one side and three on the other. GNT 33 Each of the six branches is to have three decorative flowers shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals. NIV 33 Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand. GNT 34 The shaft of the lampstand is to have four decorative flowers shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals. NIV 34 And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. GNT 35 There is to be one bud below each of the three pairs of branches. NIV 35 One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair--six branches in all. GNT 36 The buds, the branches, and the lampstand are to be a single piece of pure hammered gold. NIV 36 The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. GNT 37 Make seven lamps for the lampstand and set them up so that they shine toward the front. NIV 37 "Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. GNT 38 Make its tongs and trays of pure gold. NIV 38 Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. GNT 39 Use seventy-five pounds of pure gold to make the lampstand and all this equipment. NIV 39 A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories. GNT 40 Take care to make them according to the plan that I showed you on the mountain. NIV 40 See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
