NLT 1 The LORD said to Moses, NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, NLT 2 "Tell the people of Israel that everyone who wants to may bring me an offering. NIV 2 "Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give. NLT 3 Here is a list of items you may accept on my behalf: gold, silver, and bronze; NIV 3 These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; NLT 4 blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen; goat hair for cloth; NIV 4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; NLT 5 tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather; acacia wood; NIV 5 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; NLT 6 olive oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; NIV 6 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; NLT 7 onyx stones, and other stones to be set in the ephod and the chestpiece." NIV 7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. NLT 8 "I want the people of Israel to build me a sacred residence where I can live among them. NIV 8 "Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. NLT 9 You must make this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the plans I will show you." NIV 9 Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you. NLT 10 "Make an Ark of acacia wood -- a sacred chest 3 3/4 feet long, 2 1/4 feet wide, and 2 1/4 feet high. NIV 10 "Have them make a chest of acacia wood--two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. NLT 11 Overlay it inside and outside with pure gold, and put a molding of gold all around it. NIV 11 Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. NLT 12 Cast four rings of gold for it, and attach them to its four feet, two rings on each side. NIV 12 Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. NLT 13 Make poles from acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. NIV 13 Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. NLT 14 Fit the poles into the rings at the sides of the Ark to carry it. NIV 14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the chest to carry it. NLT 15 These carrying poles must never be taken from the rings; they are to be left there permanently. NIV 15 The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed. NLT 16 When the Ark is finished, place inside it the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you." NIV 16 Then put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. NLT 17 "Then make the Ark's cover -- the place of atonement -- out of pure gold. It must be 3 3/4 feet long and 2 1/4 feet wide. NIV 17 "Make an atonement cover of pure gold--two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. NLT 18 Then use hammered gold to make two cherubim, and place them at the two ends of the atonement cover. NIV 18 And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. NLT 19 Attach the cherubim to each end of the atonement cover, making it all one piece. NIV 19 Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. NLT 20 The cherubim will face each other, looking down on the atonement cover with their wings spread out above it. NIV 20 The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. NLT 21 Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark. NIV 21 Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. NLT 22 I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel." NIV 22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites. NLT 23 "Then make a table of acacia wood, 3 feet long, 1 1/2 feet wide, and 2 1/4 feet high. NIV 23 "Make a table of acacia wood--two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high. NLT 24 Overlay it with pure gold and run a molding of gold around it. NIV 24 Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it. NLT 25 Put a rim about three inches wide around the top edge, and put a gold molding all around the rim. NIV 25 Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim. NLT 26 Make four gold rings, and put the rings at the four corners by the four legs, NIV 26 Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are. NLT 27 close to the rim around the top. These rings will support the poles used to carry the table. NIV 27 The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table. NLT 28 Make these poles from acacia wood and overlay them with gold. NIV 28 Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them. NLT 29 And make gold plates and dishes, as well as pitchers and bowls to be used in pouring out drink offerings. NIV 29 And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings. NLT 30 You must always keep the special Bread of the Presence on the table before me." NIV 30 Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times. NLT 31 "Make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. The entire lampstand and its decorations will be one piece -- the base, center stem, lamp cups, buds, and blossoms. NIV 31 "Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it. NLT 32 It will have six branches, three branches going out from each side of the center stem. NIV 32 Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand--three on one side and three on the other. NLT 33 Each of the six branches will hold a cup shaped like an almond blossom, complete with buds and petals. NIV 33 Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand. NLT 34 The center stem of the lampstand will be decorated with four almond blossoms, complete with buds and petals. NIV 34 And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. NLT 35 One blossom will be set beneath each pair of branches where they extend from the center stem. NIV 35 One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair--six branches in all. NLT 36 The decorations and branches must all be one piece with the stem, and they must be hammered from pure gold. NIV 36 The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. NLT 37 Then make the seven lamps for the lampstand, and set them so they reflect their light forward. NIV 37 "Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it. NLT 38 The lamp snuffers and trays must also be made of pure gold. NIV 38 Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. NLT 39 You will need seventy-five pounds of pure gold for the lampstand and its accessories." NIV 39 A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories. NLT 40 "Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain." NIV 40 See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
