Exodus 26

NIRV 1 "Make ten curtains out of finely twisted linen for the holy tent. Make them with blue, purple and bright red yarn. Have a skilled worker sew cherubim into the pattern. NIV 1 "Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim worked into them by a skilled craftsman. NIRV 2 Make all of the curtains the same size. They must be 42 feet long and six feet wide. NIV 2 All the curtains are to be the same size--twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide. NIRV 3 "Join five of the curtains together. Do the same thing with the other five. NIV 3 Join five of the curtains together, and do the same with the other five. NIRV 4 Make loops out of blue strips of cloth along the edge of the end curtain in one set. Do the same thing with the end curtain in the other set. NIV 4 Make loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and do the same with the end curtain in the other set. NIRV 5 Make 50 loops on the end curtain of the one set. Do the same thing on the end curtain of the other set. Put the loops across from each other. NIV 5 Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the other set, with the loops opposite each other. NIRV 6 Make 50 gold hooks. Use them to join the curtains together so that the holy tent is all one piece. NIV 6 Then make fifty gold clasps and use them to fasten the curtains together so that the tabernacle is a unit. NIRV 7 "Make a total of 11 curtains out of goat hair to put over the holy tent. NIV 7 "Make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle--eleven altogether. NIRV 8 Make all 11 curtains the same size. They must be 45 feet long and six feet wide. NIV 8 All eleven curtains are to be the same size--thirty cubits long and four cubits wide. NIRV 9 "Join five of the curtains together into one set. Do the same thing with the other six. Fold the sixth curtain in half at the front of the tent. NIV 9 Join five of the curtains together into one set and the other six into another set. Fold the sixth curtain double at the front of the tent. NIRV 10 Make 50 loops along the edge of the end curtain in the one set. Do the same thing with the other set. NIV 10 Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and also along the edge of the end curtain in the other set. NIRV 11 Then make 50 bronze hooks. Put them in the loops to join the tent together all in one piece. NIV 11 Then make fifty bronze clasps and put them in the loops to fasten the tent together as a unit. NIRV 12 "Let the extra half curtain hang down at the rear of the holy tent. NIV 12 As for the additional length of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over is to hang down at the rear of the tabernacle. NIRV 13 The tent curtains will be one foot six inches longer on both sides. What is left over will hang over the sides of the holy tent and cover it. NIV 13 The tent curtains will be a cubit longer on both sides; what is left will hang over the sides of the tabernacle so as to cover it. NIRV 14 "Make a covering for the tent. Make it out of ram skins that are dyed red. Put a covering of the hides of sea cows over that. NIV 14 Make for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of hides of sea cows. NIRV 15 "Make frames out of acacia wood for the holy tent. NIV 15 "Make upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. NIRV 16 Make each frame 15 feet long and two feet three inches wide. NIV 16 Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide, NIRV 17 Add two small wooden pins to each frame. Make the pins stick out so that they are even with each other. NIRV 20 "For the north side of the holy tent make 20 frames NIV 20 For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, make twenty frames NIRV 21 and 40 silver bases. Put two bases under each frame. NIV 21 and forty silver bases--two under each frame. NIRV 22 "Make six frames for the west end of the holy tent. NIV 22 Make six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle, NIRV 23 Make two frames for the corners at the far end. NIV 23 and make two frames for the corners at the far end. NIRV 24 At those two corners the frames must be double from top to bottom. They must be fitted into a single ring. Make both of them the same. NIV 24 At these two corners they must be double from the bottom all the way to the top, and fitted into a single ring; both shall be like that. NIRV 25 There will be eight frames and 16 silver bases. There will be two bases under each frame. NIV 25 So there will be eight frames and sixteen silver bases--two under each frame. NIRV 26 "Also make crossbars out of acacia wood. Make five for the frames on one side of the holy tent. NIV 26 "Also make crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, NIRV 27 Make five for the frames on the other side. NIV 32 Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases. NIRV 33 Hang the curtain from the hooks. "Place the ark of the covenant behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Room from the Most Holy Room. NIV 33 Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. NIRV 34 Put the cover on the ark of the covenant in the Most Holy Room. The cover will be the place where sin is paid for. NIV 34 Put the atonement cover on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place. NIRV 35 "Place the table outside the curtain on the north side of the holy tent. And put the lampstand across from it on the south side. NIV 35 Place the table outside the curtain on the north side of the tabernacle and put the lampstand opposite it on the south side. NIRV 36 "For the entrance to the tent make a curtain out of blue, purple and bright red yarn and finely twisted linen. Have a person who sews skillfully make it. NIV 36 "For the entrance to the tent make a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen--the work of an embroiderer. NIRV 37 Make gold hooks for the curtain. Make five posts out of acacia wood. Cover them with gold. And make five bronze bases for them. NIV 37 Make gold hooks for this curtain and five posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold. And cast five bronze bases for them.
