Exodus 31

WBT 1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, NIV 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, WBT 2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: NIV 2 "See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, WBT 3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, NIV 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts-- WBT 4 To devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, NIV 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, WBT 5 And in cutting of stones to set [them], and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. NIV 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship. WBT 6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all that are wise-hearted I have put wisdom; that they may make all that I have commanded thee: NIV 6 Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you: WBT 7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy-seat that [is] upon it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle, NIV 7 the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent-- WBT 8 And the table and its furniture, and the pure candlestick with all its furniture, and the altar of incense, NIV 8 the table and its articles, the pure gold lampstand and all its accessories, the altar of incense, WBT 9 And the altar of burnt-offering, with all its furniture, and the laver and its foot, NIV 9 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin with its stand-- WBT 10 And the clothes of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office, NIV 10 and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests, WBT 11 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy [place]: according to all that I have commanded thee, shall they do. NIV 11 and the anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them just as I commanded you." WBT 12 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, NIV 12 Then the LORD said to Moses, WBT 13 Speak thou also to the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it [is] a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you. NIV 13 "Say to the Israelites, 'You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. WBT 14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore: for it [is] holy to you. Every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death: for whoever doeth [any] work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. NIV 14 " 'Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people. WBT 15 Six days may work be done, but in the seventh [is] the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whoever doeth [any] work in the sabbath-day, he shall surely be put to death. NIV 15 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death. WBT 16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, [for] a perpetual covenant. NIV 16 The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. WBT 17 [It is] a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed. NIV 17 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.' " WBT 18 And to Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, he gave two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. NIV 18 When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.
