Exodus 32:30-35

NLT 30 The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a terrible sin, but I will go back up to the on the mountain. Perhaps I will be able to obtain forgiveness for your sin.” NIV 30 The next day Moses said to the people, "You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin." NLT 31 So Moses returned to the and said, “Oh, what a terrible sin these people have committed. They have made gods of gold for themselves. NIV 31 So Moses went back to the LORD and said, "Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. NLT 32 But now, if you will only forgive their sin—but if not, erase my name from the record you have written!” NIV 32 But now, please forgive their sin--but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written." NLT 33 But the replied to Moses, “No, I will erase the name of everyone who has sinned against me. NIV 33 The LORD replied to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book. NLT 34 Now go, lead the people to the place I told you about. Look! My angel will lead the way before you. And when I come to call the people to account, I will certainly hold them responsible for their sins.” NIV 34 Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin." NLT 35 Then the sent a great plague upon the people because they had worshiped the calf Aaron had made. NIV 35 And the LORD struck the people with a plague because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made.
