Exodus 35

NLT 1 Now Moses called a meeting of all the people and told them, "You must obey these instructions from the LORD. NIV 1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, "These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do: NLT 2 Each week, work for six days only. The seventh day is a day of total rest, a holy day that belongs to the LORD. Anyone who works on that day will die. NIV 2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. NLT 3 Do not even light fires in your homes on that day." NIV 3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day." NLT 4 Then Moses said to all the people, "This is what the LORD has commanded. NIV 4 Moses said to the whole Israelite community, "This is what the LORD has commanded: NLT 5 Everyone is invited to bring these offerings to the LORD: gold, silver, and bronze; NIV 5 From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze; NLT 6 blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen; goat hair for cloth; NIV 6 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; NLT 7 tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather; acacia wood; NIV 7 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; NLT 8 olive oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; NIV 8 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; NLT 9 onyx stones, and other stones to be set in the ephod and the chestpiece." NIV 19 the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary--both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests." NLT 20 So all the people left Moses and went to their tents to prepare their gifts. NIV 20 Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses' presence, NLT 21 If their hearts were stirred and they desired to do so, they brought to the LORD their offerings of materials for the Tabernacle and its furnishings and for the holy garments. NIV 21 and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments. NLT 22 Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing. Some brought to the LORD their offerings of gold -- medallions, earrings, rings from their fingers, and necklaces. They presented gold objects of every kind to the LORD. NIV 22 All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD. NLT 23 Others brought blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, fine linen, or goat hair for cloth. Some gave tanned ram skins or fine goatskin leather. NIV 23 Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or hides of sea cows brought them. NLT 24 Others brought silver and bronze objects as their offering to the LORD. And those who had acacia wood brought it. NIV 24 Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it. NLT 25 All the women who were skilled in sewing and spinning prepared blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and fine linen cloth, and they brought them in. NIV 25 Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun--blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen. NLT 26 All the women who were willing used their skills to spin and weave the goat hair into cloth. NIV 26 And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair. NLT 27 The leaders brought onyx stones and the other gemstones to be used for the ephod and the chestpiece. NIV 27 The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. NLT 28 They also brought spices and olive oil for the light, the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense. NLT 29 So the people of Israel -- every man and woman who wanted to help in the work the LORD had given them through Moses -- brought their offerings to the LORD. NIV 29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do. NLT 30 And Moses told them, "The LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. NIV 30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, NLT 31 The LORD has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, intelligence, and skill in all kinds of crafts. NIV 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts-- NLT 32 He is able to create beautiful objects from gold, silver, and bronze. NIV 32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, NLT 33 He is skilled in cutting and setting gemstones and in carving wood. In fact, he has every necessary skill. NIV 33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. NLT 34 And the LORD has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their skills to others. NIV 35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers--all of them master craftsmen and designers.
