Exodus 7:14-24

NAS 14 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is stubborn; he refuses to let the people go. NIV 14 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. NAS 15 "Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he is going out to the water, and station yourself to meet him on the bank of the Nile; and you shall take in your hand the staff that was turned into a serpent. NIV 15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the water. Wait on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake. NAS 16 "You shall say to him, 'The LORD , the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you, saying, "Let My people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness. But behold, you have not listened until now." NIV 16 Then say to him, 'The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the desert. But until now you have not listened. NAS 17 'Thus says the LORD , "By this you shall know that I am the LORD : behold, I will strike the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and it will be turned to blood. NIV 17 This is what the LORD says: By this you will know that I am the LORD: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. NAS 18 "The fish that are in the Nile will die, and the Nile will become foul, and the Egyptians will find difficulty in drinking water from the Nile.""' NIV 18 The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.' " NAS 19 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their reservoirs of water, that they may become blood; and there will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.' " NIV 19 The LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt--over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs'--and they will turn to blood. Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in the wooden buckets and stone jars." NAS 20 So Moses and Aaron did even as the LORD had commanded. And he lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned to blood. NIV 20 Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. NAS 21 The fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt. NIV 21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt. NAS 22 But the magicians of Egypt did the same with their secret arts; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said. NIV 22 But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh's heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said. NAS 23 Then Pharaoh turned and went into his house with no concern even for this. NIV 23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart. NAS 24 So all the Egyptians dug around the Nile for water to drink, for they could not drink of the water of the Nile. NIV 24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.
