WEB 1 Paul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead), NIV 1 Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead-- WEB 2 and all the brothers who are with me, to the assemblies of Galatia: NIV 2 and all the brothers with me, To the churches in Galatia: WEB 3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, NIV 3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, WEB 4 who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father -- NIV 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, WEB 5 to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. NIV 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. WEB 6 I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different gospel; NIV 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- WEB 7 and there isn't another gospel. Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. NIV 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. WEB 8 But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any gospel other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed. NIV 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! WEB 9 As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any gospel other than that which you received, let him be cursed. NIV 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! WEB 10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ. NIV 10 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. WEB 11 But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not according to man. NIV 11 I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. WEB 12 For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ. NIV 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. WEB 13 For you have heard of my way of living in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the assembly of God, and ravaged it. NIV 13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. WEB 14 I advanced in the Jews' religion beyond many of my own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. NIV 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many Jews of my own age and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. WEB 15 But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me through his grace, NIV 15 But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased WEB 16 to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn't immediately confer with flesh and blood, NIV 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man, WEB 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus. NIV 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went immediately into Arabia and later returned to Damascus. WEB 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and stayed with him fifteen days. NIV 18 Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Peter and stayed with him fifteen days. WEB 19 But of the other apostles I saw no one, except James, the Lord's brother. NIV 19 I saw none of the other apostles--only James, the Lord's brother. WEB 20 Now about the things which I write to you, behold, before God, I'm not lying. NIV 20 I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie. WEB 21 Then I came to the regions of Syria and Cilicia. NIV 21 Later I went to Syria and Cilicia. WEB 22 I was still unknown by face to the assemblies of Judea which were in Christ, NIV 22 I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. WEB 23 but they only heard: "He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy." NIV 23 They only heard the report: "The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." WEB 24 They glorified God in me. NIV 24 And they praised God because of me.
