Genesis 23:1-6

GNT 1 Sarah lived to be 127 years old. NIV 1 Sarah lived to be a hundred and twenty-seven years old. GNT 2 She died in Hebron in the land of Canaan, and Abraham mourned her death. NIV 2 She died at Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham went to mourn for Sarah and to weep over her. GNT 3 He left the place where his wife's body was lying, went to the Hittites, and said, NIV 3 Then Abraham rose from beside his dead wife and spoke to the Hittites. He said, GNT 4 "I am a foreigner living here among you; sell me some land, so that I can bury my wife." NIV 4 "I am an alien and a stranger among you. Sell me some property for a burial site here so I can bury my dead. GNT 5 They answered, NIV 5 The Hittites replied to Abraham, GNT 6 "Listen to us, sir. We look upon you as a mighty leader; bury your wife in the best grave that we have. Any of us would be glad to give you a grave, so that you can bury her." NIV 6 "Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead."
