Genesis 4:1-6

DBY 1 And Man knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, I have acquired a man with Jehovah. NIV 1 Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man." DBY 2 And she further bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a shepherd, but Cain was a husbandman. NIV 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. DBY 3 And in process of time it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering to Jehovah. NIV 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. DBY 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock, and of their fat. And Jehovah looked upon Abel, and on his offering; NIV 4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, DBY 5 and upon Cain, and on his offering, he did not look. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. NIV 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. DBY 6 And Jehovah said to Cain, Why art thou angry, and why is thy countenance fallen? NIV 6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?
