Haggai 2:1-5

NRS 1 In the second year of King Darius, in the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by the prophet Haggai, saying: NIV 1 On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai: NRS 2 Speak now to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, and say, NIV 2 "Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people. Ask them, NRS 3 Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Is it not in your sight as nothing? NIV 3 'Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing? NRS 4 Yet now take courage, O Zerubbabel, says the Lord; take courage, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; take courage, all you people of the land, says the Lord; work, for I am with you, says the Lord of hosts, NIV 4 But now be strong, O Zerubbabel,' declares the LORD. 'Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,' declares the LORD, 'and work. For I am with you,' declares the LORD Almighty. NRS 5 according to the promise that I made you when you came out of Egypt. My spirit abides among you; do not fear. NIV 5 'This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.'
