Hebrews 10:27-37

NRS 27 but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. NIV 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. NRS 28 Anyone who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy "on the testimony of two or three witnesses." NRS 30 For we know the one who said, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge his people." NIV 30 For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." NRS 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. NIV 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. NRS 32 But recall those earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, NIV 32 Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. NRS 33 sometimes being publicly exposed to abuse and persecution, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. NIV 33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. NRS 34 For you had compassion for those who were in prison, and you cheerfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you yourselves possessed something better and more lasting. NIV 34 You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. NRS 35 Do not, therefore, abandon that confidence of yours; it brings a great reward. NIV 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. NRS 36 For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. NIV 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. NRS 37 For yet "in a very little while, the one who is coming will come and will not delay; NIV 37 For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay.
