Hebrews 13

TMB 1 Let brotherly love continue. NIV 1 Keep on loving each other as brothers. TMB 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. NIV 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. TMB 3 Remember those who are in bonds as though you were bound with them, and thse who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. NIV 3 Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. TMB 4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. NIV 4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. TMB 5 Let your manner of living be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have. For He hath said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee"; NIV 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." TMB 6 so that we may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." NIV 6 So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" TMB 7 Remember those who have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the Word of God. Follow their faith, considering the outcome of their manner of living. NIV 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. TMB 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. NIV 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. TMB 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace, not with meats which have not profited those who have been occupied therewith. NIV 9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them. TMB 10 We have an altar from which they have no right to eat, who serve the tabernacle. NIV 10 We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat. TMB 11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. NIV 11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. TMB 12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. NIV 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. TMB 13 Let us go forth therefore unto Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. NIV 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. TMB 14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come. NIV 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. TMB 15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. NIV 15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that confess his name. TMB 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. NIV 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. TMB 17 Obey those who have the rule over you and submit yourselves, for they keep watch over your souls as ones who must give an account, that they may do it with joy and not with grief, for that is unprofitable for you. NIV 17 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. TMB 18 Pray for us, for we trust we have a good conscience in all things, willing to live honestly. NIV 18 Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way. TMB 19 But I beseech you the more earnestly to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. NIV 19 I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon. TMB 20 Now the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, NIV 20 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, TMB 21 make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. NIV 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. TMB 22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation, for I have written this letter unto you with few words. NIV 22 Brothers, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written you only a short letter. TMB 23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty, with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. NIV 23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you. TMB 24 Salute all those who have the rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy salute you. NIV 24 Greet all your leaders and all God's people. Those from Italy send you their greetings. TMB 25 Grace be with you all. Amen. NIV 25 Grace be with you all.
