Hebrews 4:6-8

NLT 6 So God's rest is there for people to enter. But those who formerly heard the Good News failed to enter because they disobeyed God. NIV 6 It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience. NLT 7 So God set another time for entering his place of rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David a long time later in the words already quoted: "Today you must listen to his voice. Don't harden your hearts against him." NIV 7 Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." NLT 8 This new place of rest was not the land of Canaan, where Joshua led them. If it had been, God would not have spoken later about another day of rest. NIV 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
