Hosea 7:8-11

RSV 8 E'phraim mixes himself with the peoples; E'phraim is a cake not turned. NIV 8 "Ephraim mixes with the nations; Ephraim is a flat cake not turned over. RSV 9 Aliens devour his strength, and he knows it not; gray hairs are sprinkled upon him, and he knows it not. NIV 9 Foreigners sap his strength, but he does not realize it. His hair is sprinkled with gray, but he does not notice. RSV 10 The pride of Israel witnesses against him; yet they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him, for all this. NIV 10 Israel's arrogance testifies against him, but despite all this he does not return to the LORD his God or search for him. RSV 11 E'phraim is like a dove, silly and without sense, calling to Egypt, going to Assyria. NIV 11 "Ephraim is like a dove, easily deceived and senseless-- now calling to Egypt, now turning to Assyria.
