Isaiah 43:20-28

ASV 20 The beasts of the field shall honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen, NIV 20 The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, ASV 21 the people which I formed for myself, that they might set forth my praise. NIV 21 the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise. ASV 22 Yet thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel. NIV 22 "Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, O Israel. ASV 23 Thou hast not brought me of thy sheep for burnt-offerings; neither hast thou honored me with thy sacrifices. I have not burdened thee with offerings, nor wearied thee with frankincense. NIV 23 You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense. ASV 24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices; but thou hast burdened me with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. NIV 24 You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses. ASV 25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake; and I will not remember thy sins. NIV 25 "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. ASV 26 Put me in remembrance; let us plead together: set thou forth [thy cause], that thou mayest be justified. NIV 26 Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence. ASV 27 Thy first father sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me. NIV 27 Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me. ASV 28 Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel a reviling. NIV 28 So I will disgrace the dignitaries of your temple, and I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.
