Isaiah 57:1-6

RHE 1 The just perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart, and men of mercy are taken away, because there is none that understandeth; for the just man is taken away from before the face of evil. NIV 1 The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. RHE 2 Let peace come, let him rest in his bed that hath walked in his uprightness. NIV 2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. RHE 3 But draw near hither, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer, and of the harlot. NIV 3 "But you--come here, you sons of a sorceress, you offspring of adulterers and prostitutes! RHE 4 Upon whom have you jested? upon whom have you opened your mouth wide, and put out your tongue? are not you wicked children, a false seed, NIV 4 Whom are you mocking? At whom do you sneer and stick out your tongue? Are you not a brood of rebels, the offspring of liars? RHE 5 Who seek your comfort in idols under every green tree, sacrificing children in the torrents, under the high rocks? NIV 5 You burn with lust among the oaks and under every spreading tree; you sacrifice your children in the ravines and under the overhanging crags. RHE 6 In the parts of the torrent is thy portion, this is thy lot: and thou hast poured out libations to them, thou hast offered sacrifice. Shall I not be angry at these things? NIV 6 [The idols] among the smooth stones of the ravines are your portion; they, they are your lot. Yes, to them you have poured out drink offerings and offered grain offerings. In the light of these things, should I relent?
