RSV 13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and get gain"; NIV 13 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." RSV 14 whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. NIV 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. RSV 15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that." NIV 15 Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." RSV 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. NIV 16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. RSV 17 Whoever knows what is right to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. NIV 17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.
