Jeremiah 32:6-15

CSB 6 Jeremiah replied, "The word of the Lord came to me: NIV 6 Jeremiah said, "The word of the LORD came to me: CSB 7 'Watch! Hanamel, the son of your uncle Shallum, is coming to you to say: Buy my field in Anathoth for yourself, for you own the right of redemption to buy it.' NIV 7 Hanamel son of Shallum your uncle is going to come to you and say, 'Buy my field at Anathoth, because as nearest relative it is your right and duty to buy it.' CSB 8 "Then my cousin Hanamel [came] to the guard's courtyard as the Lord had said and urged me, 'Please buy my field in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for you own the right of inheritance and redemption. Buy it for yourself.' Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord. NIV 8 "Then, just as the LORD had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me in the courtyard of the guard and said, 'Buy my field at Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin. Since it is your right to redeem it and possess it, buy it for yourself.' "I knew that this was the word of the LORD; CSB 9 So I bought the field in Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel, and I weighed out to him the money-17 shekels of silver. NIV 9 so I bought the field at Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel and weighed out for him seventeen shekels of silver. CSB 10 I recorded it on a scroll, sealed it, called in witnesses, and weighed out the silver on a scale. NIV 10 I signed and sealed the deed, had it witnessed, and weighed out the silver on the scales. CSB 11 I took the purchase agreement-the sealed copy with its terms and conditions and the open copy- NIV 11 I took the deed of purchase--the sealed copy containing the terms and conditions, as well as the unsealed copy-- CSB 12 and gave the purchase agreement to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah. [I did this] in the sight of my cousin Hanamel, the witnesses who were signing the purchase agreement, and all the Judeans sitting in the guard's courtyard. NIV 12 and I gave this deed to Baruch son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of my cousin Hanamel and of the witnesses who had signed the deed and of all the Jews sitting in the courtyard of the guard. CSB 13 "I instructed Baruch in their sight, NIV 13 "In their presence I gave Baruch these instructions: CSB 14 'This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Take these scrolls-this purchase agreement with the sealed copy and this open copy-and put them in an earthen storage jar so they will last a long time. NIV 14 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Take these documents, both the sealed and unsealed copies of the deed of purchase, and put them in a clay jar so they will last a long time. CSB 15 For this is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Houses, fields, and vineyards will again be bought in this land.' NIV 15 For this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Houses, fields and vineyards will again be bought in this land.'
