Jeremiah 48:1-6

RHE 1 Against Moab thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Woe to Nabo, for it is laid waste, and confounded: Cariathaim is taken: the strong city is confounded and hath trembled. NIV 1 Concerning Moab: This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Woe to Nebo, for it will be ruined. Kiriathaim will be disgraced and captured; the stronghold will be disgraced and shattered. RHE 2 There is no more rejoicing in Moab over Hesebon: they have devised evil. Come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Therefore shalt thou in silence hold thy peace, and the sword shall follow thee. NIV 2 Moab will be praised no more; in Heshbon men will plot her downfall: 'Come, let us put an end to that nation.' You too, O Madmen, will be silenced; the sword will pursue you. RHE 3 A voice of crying from Oronaim: waste, and great destruction. NIV 3 Listen to the cries from Horonaim, cries of great havoc and destruction. RHE 4 Moab is destroyed: proclaim a cry for her little ones. NIV 4 Moab will be broken; her little ones will cry out. RHE 5 For by the ascent of Luith shall the mourner go up with weeping: for in the descent of Oronaim the enemies have heard a howling of destruction. NIV 5 They go up the way to Luhith, weeping bitterly as they go; on the road down to Horonaim anguished cries over the destruction are heard. RHE 6 Flee, save your lives: and be as heath in the wilderness. NIV 6 Flee! Run for your lives; become like a bush in the desert.
