Jeremiah 6:1-6

NLT 1 "Run for your lives, you people of Benjamin! Flee from Jerusalem! Sound the alarm in Tekoa! Send up a signal at Beth-hakkerem! Warn everyone that a powerful army is coming from the north to destroy this nation. NIV 1 "Flee for safety, people of Benjamin! Flee from Jerusalem! Sound the trumpet in Tekoa! Raise the signal over Beth Hakkerem! For disaster looms out of the north, even terrible destruction. NLT 2 O Jerusalem, you are my beautiful and delicate daughter -- but I will destroy you! NIV 2 I will destroy the Daughter of Zion, so beautiful and delicate. NLT 3 Enemy shepherds will surround you. They will set up camp around the city and divide your pastures for their flocks. NIV 3 Shepherds with their flocks will come against her; they will pitch their tents around her, each tending his own portion." NLT 4 They shout, 'Prepare for battle and attack at noon! But now the day is fading, and the evening shadows are falling. NIV 4 "Prepare for battle against her! Arise, let us attack at noon! But, alas, the daylight is fading, and the shadows of evening grow long. NLT 5 So let us attack by night and destroy her palaces!'" NIV 5 So arise, let us attack at night and destroy her fortresses!" NLT 6 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Cut down the trees for battering rams. Build ramps against the walls of Jerusalem. This is the city to be punished, for she is wicked through and through. NIV 6 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Cut down the trees and build siege ramps against Jerusalem. This city must be punished; it is filled with oppression.
