NKJV 1 Moreover the Lord answered Job, and said: NIV 1 The LORD said to Job: NKJV 2 "Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer it." NIV 2 "Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!" NKJV 3 Then Job answered the Lord and said: NIV 3 Then Job answered the LORD: NKJV 4 "Behold, I am vile; What shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth. NIV 4 "I am unworthy--how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth. NKJV 5 Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further." NIV 5 I spoke once, but I have no answer-- twice, but I will say no more." NKJV 6 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: NIV 6 Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm: NKJV 7 "Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me: NIV 7 "Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. NKJV 8 "Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified? NIV 8 "Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself ? NKJV 9 Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His? NIV 9 Do you have an arm like God's, and can your voice thunder like his? NKJV 10 Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, And array yourself with glory and beauty. NIV 10 Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty. NKJV 11 Disperse the rage of your wrath; Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. NIV 16 What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! NKJV 17 He moves his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit. NIV 17 His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. NKJV 18 His bones are like beams of bronze, His ribs like bars of iron. NIV 18 His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. NKJV 19 He is the first of the ways of God; Only He who made him can bring near His sword. NIV 19 He ranks first among the works of God, yet his Maker can approach him with his sword. NKJV 20 Surely the mountains yield food for him, And all the beasts of the field play there. NIV 20 The hills bring him their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby. NKJV 21 He lies under the lotus trees, In a covert of reeds and marsh. NIV 21 Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. NKJV 22 The lotus trees cover him with their shade; The willows by the brook surround him. NIV 22 The lotuses conceal him in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround him. NKJV 23 Indeed the river may rage, Yet he is not disturbed; He is confident, though the Jordan gushes into his mouth, NIV 23 When the river rages, he is not alarmed; he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth. NKJV 24 Though he takes it in his eyes, Or one pierces his nose with a snare. NIV 24 Can anyone capture him by the eyes, or trap him and pierce his nose?
