John 10:22-42

NRS 22 At that time the festival of the Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter, NIV 22 Then came the Feast of Dedication at Jerusalem. NRS 27 My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. NIV 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. NRS 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. NIV 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. NRS 29 What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father's hand. NRS 31 The Jews took up stones again to stone him. NIV 31 Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, NRS 32 Jesus replied, "I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these are you going to stone me?" NIV 32 but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?" NRS 33 The Jews answered, "It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you, but for blasphemy, because you, though only a human being, are making yourself God." NIV 33 "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God." NRS 34 Jesus answered, "Is it not written in your law, "I said, you are gods'? NIV 34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods' ? NRS 35 If those to whom the word of God came were called "gods'—and the scripture cannot be annulled— NIV 35 If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came--and the Scripture cannot be broken-- NRS 36 can you say that the one whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world is blaspheming because I said, "I am God's Son'? NIV 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'? NRS 37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me. NIV 37 Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. NRS 38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father." NIV 38 But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." NRS 39 Then they tried to arrest him again, but he escaped from their hands. NIV 39 Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp. NRS 40 He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing earlier, and he remained there. NIV 40 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. Here he stayed NRS 41 Many came to him, and they were saying, "John performed no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true." NIV 41 and many people came to him. They said, "Though John never performed a miraculous sign, all that John said about this man was true." NRS 42 And many believed in him there. NIV 42 And in that place many believed in Jesus.
