John 12:12-19

NLT 12 The next day, the news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A huge crowd of Passover visitors NIV 12 The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. NLT 13 took palm branches and went down the road to meet him. They shouted, "Praise God! Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hail to the King of Israel!" NIV 13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna! " "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the King of Israel!" NLT 14 Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, fulfilling the prophecy that said: NIV 14 Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written, NLT 15 "Don't be afraid, people of Israel. Look, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt." NIV 15 "Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt." NLT 16 His disciples didn't realize at the time that this was a fulfillment of prophecy. But after Jesus entered into his glory, they remembered that these Scriptures had come true before their eyes. NIV 16 At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him. NLT 17 Those in the crowd who had seen Jesus call Lazarus back to life were telling others all about it. NIV 17 Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word. NLT 18 That was the main reason so many went out to meet him -- because they had heard about this mighty miracle. NIV 18 Many people, because they had heard that he had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet him. NLT 19 Then the Pharisees said to each other, "We've lost. Look, the whole world has gone after him!" NIV 19 So the Pharisees said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!"
