John 1:4-14

NKJV 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. NIV 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. NKJV 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. NIV 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. NKJV 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. NIV 6 There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. NKJV 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. NIV 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. NKJV 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. NIV 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. NKJV 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. NIV 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. NKJV 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. NIV 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. NKJV 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. NIV 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. NKJV 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: NIV 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- NKJV 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. NIV 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. NKJV 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. NIV 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
