John 1:43-51

NLT 43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Come, follow me.” NIV 43 The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, "Follow me." NLT 44 Philip was from Bethsaida, Andrew and Peter’s hometown. NIV 44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. NLT 45 Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him, “We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” NIV 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote--Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." NLT 46 “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” “Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied. NIV 46 "Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?" Nathanael asked. "Come and see," said Philip. NLT 47 As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.” NIV 47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false." NLT 48 “How do you know about me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.” NIV 48 "How do you know me?" Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, "I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you." NLT 49 Then Nathanael exclaimed, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel!” NIV 49 Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel." NLT 50 Jesus asked him, “Do you believe this just because I told you I had seen you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” NIV 50 Jesus said, "You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that." NLT 51 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway between heaven and earth. ” NIV 51 He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
