John 4:43-54

NRS 43 When the two days were over, he went from that place to Galilee NIV 43 After the two days he left for Galilee. NRS 44 (for Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in the prophet's own country). NIV 44 (Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) NRS 45 When he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, since they had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the festival; for they too had gone to the festival. NIV 45 When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, for they also had been there. NRS 46 Then he came again to Cana in Galilee where he had changed the water into wine. Now there was a royal official whose son lay ill in Capernaum. NIV 46 Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. NRS 47 When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. NIV 47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death. NRS 48 Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe." NIV 48 "Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you will never believe." NRS 49 The official said to him, "Sir, come down before my little boy dies." NIV 49 The royal official said, "Sir, come down before my child dies." NRS 50 Jesus said to him, "Go; your son will live." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started on his way. NIV 50 Jesus replied, "You may go. Your son will live." The man took Jesus at his word and departed. NRS 51 As he was going down, his slaves met him and told him that his child was alive. NIV 51 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. NRS 52 So he asked them the hour when he began to recover, and they said to him, "Yesterday at one in the afternoon the fever left him." NIV 52 When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, "The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour." NRS 53 The father realized that this was the hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he himself believed, along with his whole household. NIV 53 Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he and all his household believed. NRS 54 Now this was the second sign that Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee. NIV 54 This was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, having come from Judea to Galilee.
