NIV 5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" KJV 6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do . NIV 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. NIV 9 "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" KJV 10 And Jesus said , Make the men sit down . Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down , in number about five thousand. NIV 10 Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them. KJV 11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks , he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down ; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would . NIV 11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. KJV 12 When they were filled , he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain , that nothing be lost . NIV 12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." KJV 13 Therefore they gathered them together , and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten . NIV 13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. KJV 14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did , said , This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. KJV 23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks :) NIV 23 Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. KJV 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do , that we might work the works of God? NIV 28 Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" KJV 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent . NIV 29 Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." NIV 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. KJV 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. KJV 41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said , I am the bread which came down from heaven. NIV 41 At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." KJV 42 And they said , Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know ? how is it then that he saith , I came down from heaven? NIV 42 They said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?" KJV 43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. NIV 43 "Stop grumbling among yourselves," Jesus answered. KJV 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. NIV 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." KJV 52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying , How can this man give us his flesh to eat ? NIV 52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" KJV 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. NIV 53 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. KJV 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. NIV 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. KJV 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. NIV 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. KJV 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. NIV 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. KJV 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. NIV 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. KJV 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead : he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. NIV 65 He went on to say, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him." KJV 66 From that time many of his disciples went back , and walked no more with him. NIV 66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. KJV 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve , Will ye also go away ? NIV 67 "You do not want to leave too, do you?" Jesus asked the Twelve. KJV 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go ? thou hast the words of eternal life. NIV 68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. KJV 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. NIV 69 We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God." KJV 70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? NIV 70 Then Jesus replied, "Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!" KJV 71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve. NIV 71 (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)
