John 6:24-35

CEB 24 When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. NRS 24 So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus. CEB 25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?" NRS 25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you come here?" CEB 26 Jesus replied, "I assure you that you are looking for me not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate all the food you wanted. NRS 26 Jesus answered them, "Very truly, I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. CEB 27 Don't work for the food that doesn't last but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Human One will give you. God the Father has confirmed him as his agent to give life." NRS 27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal." CEB 28 They asked, "What must we do in order to accomplish what God requires?" NRS 28 Then they said to him, "What must we do to perform the works of God?" CEB 29 Jesus replied, "This is what God requires, that you believe in him whom God sent." NRS 29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent." CEB 30 They asked, "What miraculous sign will you do, that we can see and believe you? What will you do? NRS 30 So they said to him, "What sign are you going to give us then, so that we may see it and believe you? What work are you performing? CEB 31 Our ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, just as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat." NRS 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, "He gave them bread from heaven to eat.' " CEB 32 Jesus told them, "I assure you, it wasn't Moses who gave the bread from heaven to you, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. NRS 32 Then Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. CEB 33 The bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." NRS 33 For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." CEB 34 They said, "Sir, give us this bread all the time!" NRS 34 They said to him, "Sir, give us this bread always." CEB 35 Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. NRS 35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
