John 7:25-35

ESV 25 Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, "Is not this the man whom they seek to kill? NIV 25 At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, "Isn't this the man they are trying to kill? ESV 26 And here he is, speaking openly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ? NIV 26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Christ ? ESV 27 But we know where this man comes from, and when the Christ appears, no one will know where he comes from." NIV 27 But we know where this man is from; when the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from." ESV 28 So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, "You know me, and you know where I come from? But I have not come of my own accord. He who sent me is true, and him you do not know. NIV 28 Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, "Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him, ESV 29 I know him, for I come from him, and he sent me." NIV 29 but I know him because I am from him and he sent me." ESV 30 So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come. NIV 30 At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come. ESV 31 Yet many of the people believed in him. They said, "When the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done?" NIV 31 Still, many in the crowd put their faith in him. They said, "When the Christ comes, will he do more miraculous signs than this man?" ESV 32 The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest him. NIV 32 The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him. ESV 33 Jesus then said, "I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me. NIV 33 Jesus said, "I am with you for only a short time, and then I go to the one who sent me. ESV 34 You will seek me and you will not find me. Where I am you cannot come." NIV 34 You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come." ESV 35 The Jews said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we will not find him? Does he intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks? NIV 35 The Jews said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
