John 8:42-52

KJV 42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. NIV 42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. KJV 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. NIV 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. KJV 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do . He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. NIV 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. KJV 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. NIV 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! KJV 46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? NIV 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? KJV 47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. NIV 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." KJV 48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? NIV 48 The Jews answered him, "Aren't we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?" KJV 49 Jesus answered , I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me. NIV 49 "I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. KJV 50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth . NIV 50 I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. KJV 51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. NIV 51 I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." KJV 52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead , and the prophets; and thou sayest , If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. NIV 52 At this the Jews exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that if anyone keeps your word, he will never taste death.
