RSV 15 And he said to them, "Take heed, and beware of all covetousness; for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." NIV 15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." RSV 16 And he told them a parable, saying, "The land of a rich man brought forth plentifully; NIV 16 And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. RSV 18 And he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will store all my grain and my goods. NIV 18 "Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. RSV 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his span of life? NIV 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ? RSV 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? NIV 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? NIV 47 "That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. RSV 48 But he who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, shall receive a light beating. Every one to whom much is given, of him will much be required; and of him to whom men commit much they will demand the more. RSV 51 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division; NIV 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. RSV 52 for henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three; NIV 52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three.
