Luke 19:22-32

RSV 22 He said to him, 'I will condemn you out of your own mouth, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? NIV 22 "His master replied, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow? RSV 23 Why then did you not put my money into the bank, and at my coming I should have collected it with interest?' NIV 23 Why then didn't you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?' RSV 24 And he said to those who stood by, 'Take the pound from him, and give it to him who has the ten pounds.' NIV 24 "Then he said to those standing by, 'Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.' RSV 25 (And they said to him, 'Lord, he has ten pounds!') NIV 25 " 'Sir,' they said, 'he already has ten!' RSV 26 'I tell you, that to every one who has will more be given; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. NIV 26 "He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away. RSV 27 But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.'" NIV 27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me.' " RSV 28 And when he had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. NIV 28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. RSV 29 When he drew near to Beth'phage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples, NIV 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, RSV 30 saying, "Go into the village opposite, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat; untie it and bring it here. NIV 30 "Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. RSV 31 If any one asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' you shall say this, 'The Lord has need of it.'" NIV 31 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it.' " RSV 32 So those who were sent went away and found it as he had told them. NIV 32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.
