NIV 60 but his mother spoke up and said, "No! He is to be called John." NAS 61 And they said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who is called by that name." NIV 61 They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name." NAS 62 And they made signs to his father, as to what he wanted him called. NIV 62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. NAS 63 And he asked for a tablet and wrote as follows, "His name is John." And they were all astonished. NIV 63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name is John." NAS 64 And at once his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he began to speak in praise of God. NIV 64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak, praising God.
