Luke 23:33-43

CEB 33 When they arrived at the place called The Skull, they crucified him, along with the criminals, one on his right and the other on his left. NRS 33 When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified Jesus there with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. CEB 34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they're doing." They drew lots as a way of dividing up his clothing. CEB 35 The people were standing around watching, but the leaders sneered at him, saying, "He saved others. Let him save himself if he really is the Christ sent from God, the chosen one." NRS 35 And the people stood by, watching; but the leaders scoffed at him, saying, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Messiah of God, his chosen one!" CEB 36 The soldiers also mocked him. They came up to him, offering him sour wine NRS 36 The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine CEB 37 and saying, "If you really are the king of the Jews, save yourself." NRS 37 and saying, "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!" CEB 38 Above his head was a notice of the formal charge against him. It read "This is the king of the Jews." NRS 38 There was also an inscription over him, "This is the King of the Jews. CEB 39 One of the criminals hanging next to Jesus insulted him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" NRS 39 One of the criminals who were hanged there kept deriding him and saying, "Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us!" CEB 40 Responding, the other criminal spoke harshly to him, "Don't you fear God, seeing that you've also been sentenced to die? NRS 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? CEB 41 We are rightly condemned, for we are receiving the appropriate sentence for what we did. But this man has done nothing wrong." NRS 41 And we indeed have been condemned justly, for we are getting what we deserve for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong." CEB 42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." NRS 42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." CEB 43 Jesus replied, "I assure you that today you will be with me in paradise." NRS 43 He replied, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
