Luke 7:1-18

CSB 1 When He had concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum. NIV 1 When Jesus had finished saying all this in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum. CSB 2 A centurion's slave, who was highly valued by him, was sick and about to die. NIV 2 There a centurion's servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die. CSB 3 When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, requesting Him to come and save the life of his slave. CSB 7 That is why I didn't even consider myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be cured. NIV 7 That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. CSB 8 For I too am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes; and to another, 'Come!' and he comes; and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it." NIV 8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." CSB 9 Jesus heard this and was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, "I tell you, I have not found so great a faith even in Israel!" NIV 9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel." CSB 10 When those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health. NIV 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well. CSB 16 Then fear came over everyone, and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has risen among us," and "God has visited His people." NIV 16 They were all filled with awe and praised God.
