Luke 9:27-35

NAS 27 "But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God." NIV 27 I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God." NAS 28 Some eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. NIV 28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. NAS 29 And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming. NIV 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. NAS 30 And behold, two men were talking with Him; and they were Moses and Elijah, NIV 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, NAS 31 who, appearing in glory, were speaking of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. NIV 31 appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. NAS 32 Now Peter and his companions had been overcome with sleep; but when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men standing with Him. NIV 32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. NAS 33 And as these were leaving Him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah "-not realizing what he was saying. NIV 33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.) NAS 34 While he was saying this, a cloud formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. NIV 34 While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. NAS 35 Then a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!" NIV 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him."
