NCV 1 This is the beginning of the Good News about Jesus Christ, the Son of God, NIV 1 The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. NCV 2 as the prophet Isaiah wrote: "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way." NIV 38 Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else--to the nearby villages--so I can preach there also. That is why I have come." NCV 39 So he went everywhere in Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and forcing out demons. NIV 39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. NCV 40 A man with a skin disease came to Jesus. He fell to his knees and begged Jesus, "You can heal me if you will." NIV 40 A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." NCV 41 Jesus felt sorry for the man, so he reached out his hand and touched him and said, "I will. Be healed!" NIV 41 Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" NCV 42 Immediately the disease left the man, and he was healed. NIV 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. NCV 43 Jesus told the man to go away at once, but he warned him strongly, NIV 43 Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: NCV 44 "Don't tell anyone about this. But go and show yourself to the priest. And offer the gift Moses commanded for people who are made well. This will show the people what I have done." NIV 44 "See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them." NCV 45 The man left there, but he began to tell everyone that Jesus had healed him, and so he spread the news about Jesus. As a result, Jesus could not enter a town if people saw him. He stayed in places where nobody lived, but people came to him from everywhere. NIV 45 Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
