NIV 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? CSB 54 How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?" NIV 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?" CSB 55 At that time Jesus said to the crowds, "Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal, to capture Me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn't arrest Me. NIV 55 At that time Jesus said to the crowd, "Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me. CSB 56 But all this has happened so that the prophetic Scriptures would be fulfilled." Then all the disciples deserted Him and ran away. NIV 56 But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples deserted him and fled. CSB 57 Those who had arrested Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had convened. NIV 62 Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" CSB 63 But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him, "By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!" NIV 63 But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God." CSB 64 "You have said it," Jesus told him. "But I tell you, in the future you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming on the clouds of heaven ." NIV 64 "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." CSB 65 Then the high priest tore his robes and said, "He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Look, now you've heard the blasphemy! NIV 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. CSB 66 What is your decision?" "You also were with Jesus of Galilee," she said. CSB 70 But he denied it in front of everyone: "I don't know what you're talking about!" NIV 70 But he denied it before them all. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said. CSB 71 When he had gone out to the gateway, another woman saw him and told those who were there, "This man was with Jesus the Nazarene!" CSB 72 And again he denied it with an oath, "I don't know the man!" NIV 72 He denied it again, with an oath: "I don't know the man!" CSB 73 After a little while those standing there approached and said to Peter, "You certainly are one of them, since even your accent gives you away." CSB 74 Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath, "I do not know the man!" Immediately a rooster crowed, NIV 74 Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, "I don't know the man!" Immediately a rooster crowed.
