Matthew 28:1-7

NLT 1 Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to see the tomb. NIV 1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. NLT 2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, because an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled aside the stone and sat on it. NIV 2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. NLT 3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. NIV 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. NLT 4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. NIV 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. NLT 5 Then the angel spoke to the women. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. NIV 5 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. NLT 6 He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. NIV 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. NLT 7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples he has been raised from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember, I have told you." NIV 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
